L’oscar hotel to launch Sip & Savour Society

L’oscar hotel will be launching its Sip & Savour Society this month consisting of a line-up of dinners and events which will be hosted throughout the year.

The hotel’s Baptist Grill will be starting off the events on 11 July with a five-course wine dinner, looking at the iconic terroirs of the South of France and with each course paired with a Gérard Bertrand wine. Priced at £95 per person, guests will have dishes such as Rabbit and prosciutto, marjoram and pepper relish paired with a Crémant de Limoux, or a Roast Cumbrian striploin with snail raviolis, cassis shallots and mousseline potato paired with a La Forge from the Corbières-Boutenac region of the Languedoc.

In September, guests can try the hotel’s Saint and Sinner Afternoon Tea alongside live demonstrations on how to make the best tea cakes, as well as a talk on the teas provided by the Rare Tea Company. The Saint Afternoon Tea is accompanied by a selection of teas and The Sinner Afternoon Tea offers a selection of three tea-infused cocktails, including the Charon au champagne cocktail made with rooibos tea infused Ketel one vodka, blood orange and champagne. The tea evening in the Library Room will take place on Saturday, 7 September and will cost from £65 – £85. A donation of £2 from each afternoon tea will be given to Rhythms of Life, the hotel’s local homeless charity.

On 11 October, there will be a Dine Around evening, where guests will have a three-course meal with wine pairings, cocktails and canapés whilst moving between the hotel’s dining rooms. The evening will begin with a Saint or a Sinner cocktail and a selection of canapés in The Baptist Bar, which will be followed by starters served at Café L’oscar. Main courses will be served underneath the dome in The Baptist Grill. The evening will finish with a dessert station in the Committee Room, one of the private dining rooms, which showcases original decorative features of the Arts and Crafts Movement. Tickets will be priced at £135 per person and include all food, drinks and service.

November will feature a Tanqueray Gin Masterclass with live entertainment in The Baptist Bar on Saturday, 9 November and tickets will cost £60 per person.

A Christmas wreath-making workshop with mulled wine and canapés will take place on 11 December, with tickets priced at £80 per person.
