The finalists for the Afternoon Tea of the Year 2019 awards have been revealed, following a strong response to the competition that searches for the best tea service in the UK.
Afternoon tea remains a staple of the hotel industry, with millions of customers sitting down to enjoy it every year. The Afternoon Tea of the Year award is a great opportunity for hotels to showcase and be rewarded for their creativity and excellence in this Great British tradition.
The competition, which was launched by Hotel F&B magazine, has selected 16 finalists to compete at the Westminster Boating Base near Pimlico, London, on Friday 14 June 2019.
Apart from the main Afternoon Tea of the Year prize of £1000 for the winner, there will be categories rewarding Best Tasting Afternoon Tea of the Year and Best Presented Afternoon Tea of the Year.
Jill Sayles, editor of Hotel F&B magazine, says: “We had a great response to the competition and after careful consideration, we’ve picked 16 finalists who have all showcased something extra special. It’s such a great competition to be involved in and there’s a lot of creativity out there. I’m looking forward to meeting the finalists and choosing an overall winner in June.”
The event is partnered by the F&B Managers Association of London (FBMA) and sponsored by Tipiak.
