Hotel F&B magazine has announced a partnership with the F&B Managers Association of London (FBMA) in support of the Afternoon tea of The Year competition.
With members spanning the top hotels and restaurants from across the capital, the FBMA will bring a depth of knowledge to the competition, which aims to identify the best afternoon tea in the UK and the team behind it.
FBMA chairman Roy Sommer said: “We are delighted to partner with Hotel F&B magazine on the Afternoon Tea of The Year competition for its second year.
“Entrants last year were of a very high standard, and it was great to see so much creativity, though and detail going into the afternoon tea service. I am looking forward to seeing if they can improve on that this year.”
Afternoon Tea remains a staple of the hotel industry with millions of customers sitting down to enjoy the service every year.
Last year, the Afternoon Tea of the Year 2018 title was won by the Symphony Afternoon Tea by Jumeirah Carlton Tower, London, while the crown for Best Tasting Afternoon Tea of the Year category was taken by The Lawns Restaurant at Thornton Hall, The Wirral, Liverpool.
The Perception at W London Leicester Square hotel took home Best Presented Afternoon Tea of the Year Award for its Tea-Total Afternoon Tea offer that included crystallised cocktails.
Editor of Hotel F&B magazine Joe Bill said: “To have secured the F&B Managers Association of London as partners for the competition for a second year is really pleasing. Having attended many of their meetings and events over the years, I know they have an extremely in-depth knowledge of their industry.
“And I hope that many of their members will be up for the Afternoon tea of the Year challenge themselves.”
The Afternoon Tea of The Year competition will take place at Westminster Boating Base near Pimlico, London, on Friday 14th June, 2018.
