Punch Room, the award-winning bar nestled at the back of The London EDITION, has launched the latest instalment in its hugely popular ‘The Five’ punch menu, ‘The Five: Volume II’.
Created by bar manager Andy Shannon, formerly of Calooh Callay, and head bartender Eric Van Oers, formerly of the Blind Pig, The Five: Volume II marks a new chapter in Punch Room’s celebration of this iconic drink.
Where the first menu celebrated the five main ingredients of Punch (Spirits, Water & Tea, Citrus, Sugar and Spice, if you were wondering), The Five: Volume II will celebrate its illustrious history, highlighting five key moments that have led to Punches oft-understated influence on the history of cocktail making and the modern drinker.
Presented in the form of a book, bound in British racing green linen, The Five: Volume II features beautiful original colour illustrations from six unique artists – Alan Berry Rhys, Bene Rohlmann, Jake Foreman, Max Löffler, Otto Von Beach & Verónica Grech – and includes a humourous foreword on Punch Room’s inimitable hospitality from BAD Sports’ Will McBean. The menu itself breaks down Punch’s rich history into five distinct chapters, inspired by the first Naval, Coffee House, Caribbean, North American and Modern Punches, alongside some of Punch Room’s best loved creations.
